Hello, my name is Leaca (Lisa), I am a 40 something mother of three, married to a LEO, and lives in Alaska with three dogs.  I have three grandchildren that are the greatest individuals God has ever created.

I have always been a creative in one genre or another.  I have kept art journals since I was in high school.  My journals evolved over the years and I now I can’t imagine my life without journals.  With that being a constant it has allowed me to keep a constant connection with my creative core.

In 2014, I fell in love with mixed media, acrylics and started working on canvas. I have found my place in the art world by expressing myself in my journals and on canvas of all sizes.

I am inspired by color, shapes in nature, and by curiosity.  I paint intuitively.  Intuitive painting is when you connect on a spiritual level with your art.  I normally meditate, stretch and journal before I start painting on canvas.  As I paint I continue the meditative state if I can and I do not think about a direction.  I just paint and see where it takes me.  I paint in layers and sometimes it will take several weeks to finish a painting.  When I finish a painting I normally have a phrase or quote that is on the edge of the canvas.  It is my way of saying the canvas is complete.

The mediums I use vary with each piece.  I work with acrylics, watercolors, and mixed media.

  1. Good Morning. I’m sorry, but I didn’t catch your name. I have visited blogs before, but I have never really read the “about me” part. I really don’t have the attention span to spend time getting to know anyone online. I loved reading about you. I have never been to Alaska, but I’m sure God made it pure, crisp, and colorful with beautiful animals. I live in the Lone Star State and so many senior citizens have traveled there. I want to, but $$$ is limited, But for now I’ll follow your blog and read about what you do everyday there in God’s country. I think your art journals are simple and lovely. They make a point. Hope to hear from you and one day I’ll make it out there to Alaska.

    1. Sorry, I forgot to add my name. Thank you for the reminder. My name is Leaca (Lisa).

You never know what to write in these things so thank you for your kind words. They made my day.

Alaska is very beautiful and breathe taking world. I often tell my husband that I have never felt so humble until we came here. There are scenes that make me feel so small and I just soak those moments up.

      Thank you for dropping by.
